The human body is a sum of its life experiences, and the layering of these experiences over the decades makes us who we are. The loss of a loved one, the challenge of moving home, the life-long learning from our education and work, and the joy of new adventures.

Using my own body as a template and my own life experiences I present a topographical interpretation of the figure paired with the cartographical device of the Legend to tell my story. The decades bring a variety of experiences that layer one upon another informing the ensuing years.

Being a Sydney girl, it seemed apt to use the soft colour palette of Sydney sandstone with its weathering revealing many layers and prior geological histories.
